IPhone and Mac users in Australia have been the victim Blocker

The Australian edition of the Age reported that a number of iOS and Mac users in Australia were victims of a previously unknown malicious software remotely blocking work iPhone, iPad and Mac via a cloud service iCloud. Compromised device displays a warning message and demanding money for unlocking.

According to numerous users support forum Apple, organizers attacks require 100 dollars / euros for unlocking devices, the majority of users said that nothing was loaded on the device and did not visit questionable sites. Others say that the messages began to appear during iMessage, which were previously identified bugs (and Apple has promised to fix them in the near future).

The Age cites a number of independent experts, according to which the lock could be possible because of the previously identified data leakage from iCloud.

Apple has not yet officially commented intsient.
