Europe is investing 2.8 billion euros in robotics
At the same time, the developers did not say how many jobs would be cut as a result of robotics or that aspect of the economy. Brussels say the EU, as well as 180 companies and research organizations initiated a joint initiative called SPARC, which should strengthen the position of Europe on the global market for robotics. Brussels expects that by 2020 the market will reach the appropriate scale of 60 billion euros. Under SPARC plan to develop applications of robotics in industries such as agriculture, health, transportation, public safety, production and life.
According to forecasts of the EU, the initiative will expand the market share of Europe on robotics to 42% or 4 billion euros a year. Industry representatives of the European robotics industry are united under the umbrella organization euRobotics, which invest in the project to 2.1 billion euros, while the European Commission to invest another 700 million euros.
