CERN is undertaking a major implementation of Oracle software

       Oracle has signed an agreement with the European Centre for Nuclear Physics, Cern regarding the delivery of a large batch of software for the needs of the research organization. As described in Oracle, Cern buys from Oracle sets Enterprise Manager 12c (a platform for managing databases, application servers, and Web servers.) A total of Enterprise Manager 12c will manage the 3,000 individual objects.

       Oracle claims that its platform Enterprise manager will manage the research and infrastructure systems, including data generated by the Large Hadron Collider. The contract also provides for the deployment of about 200 copies of the Oracle Database server instances and 200 Weblogic, as well as several dedicated application servers. companies did not disclose the contract value.
