Heritage of UNESCO. Fort in Agra

       In India one can find a variety of structures. In the city of Agra is Red Fort - fortification that served in the era of the Mughal rulers of the residence. In 1983, he was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.



Construction of the fort began in 1565. Was initiated by Akbar the Great, who moved the capital from Delhi to Agra.


 The entire complex has a crescent shape and surrounded by a wall (height - 21 m). Almost all the buildings of the fort made of red sandstone.



Delhi and Lahore Gate entrance to form the Red Fort. Inside are representative palaces, several mosques and gardens. Architectural style harmoniously combines elements of Islamic and Hindu architecture.
