Internet company Yahoo closes the next portion of their products in order to focus on its core areas of activity. Yahoo said in the closing party of 12 products and services, many of which were popular before, but now have lost its former luster, and some of them had become covered with dust.
Among the projects being closed system is listed AltaVista, great-grandfather of all modern Internet search engines, as well as System Yahoo RSS Alerts. Go under the knife as the products Yahoo Axis, Citizen Sports and Yahoo Browser Plus."Today we close a few products, the company can focus on more advanced designs that help people in their daily lives," - says Jay Rossiter, vice president of Yahoo.
Recall that in April of this year, Yahoo has already closed a few products, such as Yahoo Deals and SMS Alerts. Now Yahoo says that those users who are still used to work for a search engine AltaVista, will automatically switch to Yahoo Search. Project Citizen Sports will redirect users to a Yahoo Sports.
Analysts say the austerity program is extremely relevant to Yahoo, as the company recently announced a deal to buy Tumblr system for one billion dollars.
