Samsung may acquire Nuance Communications



According the Wall Street Journal, the company Nuance Communications is in talks with a group of potential buyers of its assets. Recall that Nuance specializes in the development of software, designed for voice recognition. The company initially was the development of a voice assistant Siri Apple. WSJ reports that the company is in talks with a group of private foundations, as well as Samsung Electronics, which is the most likely candidate to buy it. Amid news Nuance shares in New York jumped 11% to 19.04 dollars. 

Today, one of the major shareholders Nuance is an American billionaire Carl Icahn, who retains 60.8 million shares or 19.08% of their total number. According to calculations of Thomson Reuters, the total capitalization of Nuance is now 5.45 billion dollars. Currently there is no clear information about what stage are the negotiations between Nuance and Samsung and there is no guarantee that they will lead to a deal to purchase Nuance . If the transaction is Nuance take place, it will be the largest in the mobile business of South Korean Samsung Electronics.
