Sony HMZ-T3W - compact 3D-cinema for one person

Despite its futuristic appearance, HMZ-T3W is essentially a relatively simple device. This headset with two small displays for each eye and the built-in audio. It will immerse themselves in the action 2D or 3D-film, as well as some gameplay shooter.

Front of each eye is a high-quality user OLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Due to the short distance, they provide a wide viewing angle - 45 degrees. Housing unit has a sleek streamlined design. Fixing is carried on the head by two straps. One passes through the back of the head, and the second through the top of the head and bears almost the entire mass. This is a good solution, since nasal cartilage load even 300 grams, which weighs headset, would already be very uncomfortable.

Between the two displays have a seizure, which normally fits most nose. It is worth noting that for normal viewing critical clear orientation headset on your head. The distance between the two lenses can be controlled with a pair of sliders, but the adjustment diopters for people with low vision, unfortunately, no. Points under the headset in principle placed, but the convenience is, of course, does not add. The control buttons are located nearby. They are comfortable enough to use the touch. The menu does not Russian, but it is simple and intuitive. In addition, after setting them virtually unused. Next to the buttons you can find the usual 3.5mm audio jack.

The scope of delivery includes a small breakout box. It has a simple rectangular design and carries interfaces HDMI, MHL, and power connector. Communication with the head unit can also be carried out without wires, by WirelessHD. There is still gold-plated 1/4 inch (6.3mm) headphone jack. Includes attached ear Sony MDR-EX0300.

The device uses a 32-bit digital-to-analog converter, and supports Virtual Phones (VPT) to simulate a 5.1 or 7.1-channel surround sound. There are several preset profiles, the most successful - "Cinema" and "Game". Of course, the sound is not up to the full audio, but nonetheless pretty good even through earphones.

Due to the fact that the ambient light is minimized OLED-displays reach their full potential. Images from nothing distracting and can be properly enjoy watching. Display brightness is chosen optimally, but due to an incredibly deep black image feels very realistic. Color rendition exaggerates a little color saturation to adjust the allocated only one slider, but it is enough. The structure itself is ideal for displaying 3D-content in full resolution, without the drawbacks of a TV or projector.

The package includes: head module and battery screen from external light switch module (3xHDMI) Headphone Cables HDMI (1,5 m and 3 m) cable microUSB AC adapter for the head unit AC Adapter for switch module Carrying Case

Pros

- great picture
- great sound
- the relative compactness and autonomy Cons - high price - the load on the muscles of the neck - no diopter adjustment Verdict HMZ-T3W fully justifies the claimed functionality, creating a real high for a cinema audience. The headset is especially good for playing 3D-content. But she has a relatively narrow niche, not the most ideal ergonomics, and 50 000, which it stands, the majority prefer a home theater for watching movies with good company.
