ISS today will be the next spacewalk

American astronaut Christopher Cassidy and his Italian colleague Luke Parmitano from the crew of the International Space Station will hold today a spacewalk. This was reported on Monday the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

According to NASA, one of the goals of the upcoming spacewalk is laying additional cable connection on the outer surface of the orbital complex for the new Russian Multifunctional Laboratory Module (MLM), whose arrival at the ISS is expected at the end of this year.

In addition to preparing for the arrival of the module that Cassidy and Parmitano started back during a previous spacewalk last week, the astronauts will complete the installation of additional components of the electrical supply of the ISS, will replace the camera on the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo", move the components of a wireless camera television and perform a number of other tasks.

Christopher Cassidy and Luke Parmitano begin spacewalk today at about 8:10 on the East Coast of the USA (16:10 MSK). It is planned that they will stay out in the cold station 6 hours and 15 minutes. This will be the fifth "space walk" in 2013 - the sixth in career Cassidy and the other for Parmitano, reports  ITAR-TASS .
