SpaceX will orbit three Canadian satellites

Private space company Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) today announced the signing of a commercial contract to launch three satellites Radarsat Constellation Misson, created in Canada. Launch is scheduled for 2018 on board a rocket Falcon 9. Note that the contract will be signed in January this year, when the Canadian Space Agency has determined that for the construction of the satellites will be responsible company MDA Corp. The cost of construction of three units will be $ 692 million.

At SpaceX announced that they will not disclose the financial terms of the contract to launch the Canadian vehicles.

In the Canadian MDA said that after the Radarsat phones will be launched into space, their company will also be involved in marketing of images obtained from satellites and sold on the commercial market related data. According to the technical specifications, the resolution of the satellites will be up to 1 meter.

At SpaceX said that this year they will start pilot production unit Cassiope MDA. Launch will be held on the launch vehicle Falcomn 9 v1.1, which features a new design of the engine and allows you to display the shuttle vehicles into geostationary orbit.
