The largest European aerospace and defense concern European Aeronautic, Defense & Space Co. (EADS), as expected, changes its name to Airbus. So then the name was of a subsidiary Airbus EADS, which manufactures aircraft, reminds agency AFP.

As noted by Enders, renaming will emphasize the main mission of the concern, which can be formulated as follows: "We make machines fly." In parallel, Tom Enders and ordered a major restructuring of the company: the world's largest manufacturer EADS Astrium spacecraft will be merged with Cassidian and Airbus Military (defense department producing military transport aircraft), a new company Airbus Defense & Space, whose headquarters will be located in Munich.

Enders called the decision a reaction to the changed situation on the market, which is now suffering from stagnation and reduced defense budgets in Western countries. In this regard, the concern is becoming more like its American rival Boeing, which also joined the defense and space units into one company, the agency dpa. Simultaneously Tom Enders announced impressive data on the financial status of their concern. Thus, the net profit of EADS from April to June was 518 million euros - a 14 percent increase over the second quarter of 2012. According to the new projections, EADS will sell in 2013, about a thousand planes.
