Allied Telesis expands the range of Gigabit stackable switches

The company Allied Telesism announced the expansion of its line of stackable Gigabit switches Allied Telesis x510 Series with support for security features and fault tolerance. Two new models with support for Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE +) - AT-x510-28GPX and AT-x510-52GPX - provide enough power over twisted pair to meet the needs of corporate networks, including those in the retail segment, government organizations, in the sector of education and health care.

Equipped with 24 and 48 ports of Gigabit and 10-Gigabit uplink-ports, the new models with PoE + provide up to 370 W of output power. PoE + technology allows you to not only deliver up to 30 W per port to power devices with high power consumption (for example, PTZ-camera), as well as provide power to PoE devices, including wireless access points and IP-phones.

PoE technology allows you to avoid the necessity of laying additional power cables when moving or installing network devices and helps minimize clutter power supplies and adapters. x510 series switches support the technology of virtual stacking Allied Telesis Virtual Chassis Stacking (VCStack), which allows up to four devices tire stacking up to 40 Gbit / s. VCStack technology provides a reliable solution with no single point of failure for maximum uptime for mission-critical applications. In addition, the x510 series switches series support the technology VCStack LD (Long Distance), allows you to create a stack using Fibre Channel over long distances (up to tens of kilometers), making the equipment ideal for use in distributed network environments.

"Another great advantage x510 series switches is the ability to upgrade and expand its functionality with Layer 2 + / third base level switches to the third grade level, - says Yuri Belsky, director of the Russian office Allied Telesis. - Customers get a choice: either purchase a license to complete the work on the third level or upgrade their devices in the future. Such a possibility of a gradual expansion of existing product functionality allows more efficient use of both technical and financial resources of enterprises. "
